Living River is excited to announce the addition of Lauren Allred to our team as the Cahaba Environmental Center (CEC) Director. Lauren has a B.S.E in Elementary and Collaborative Education and a M.S.E. in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University. She is a former elementary school teacher in the Anniston region. Lauren has been involved in the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley camping program since she was a camper at Gulftreat and is excited to marry her love of teaching and camp by becoming the CEC Director. Lauren is passionate about the mission and ministry of Living River and the Cahaba Environmental Center and desires to share the CEC’s educational programs throughout Alabama in new and creative ways. Lauren believes the opportunity to educate as many children and adults about the impact the Cahaba River has on Alabamians and the impact Alabamians in turn have on the Cahaba River is an essential mission for the CEC. By supporting sponsorships and providing pathways to children and adults from all walks of life to learn about the environment through hands-on experiences, Living River’s CEC can help the river of knowledge, passion, and community spring forth and flow for generations. Lee Walthall, Board Chair, indicated that adding Lauren to the leadership team at Living River is a wonderful plus. Lauren will begin her new positon on Jan.2, 2018. You can reach Lauren at email@example.com.
